Au terme des quarante jours pendant lesquels l\u2019\u00c9glise s\u2019est pr\u00e9par\u00e9e \u00e0 c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la P\u00e2que, par \u00ab\u00a0la pri\u00e8re, la p\u00e9nitence et le partage\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> (Missel romain<\/em>, Dimanche des Rameaux), voici venir les Jours Saints<\/strong> nous convoquant \u00e0 suivre les pas du Christ<\/strong> lui-m\u00eame, dans sa Passion et sa R\u00e9surrection.<\/p>\n

Ce temps, plus encore que les autres moments de l\u2019ann\u00e9e liturgique, sollicite notre corps<\/strong>, appel\u00e9 comme il est \u00e0 se transformer \u00e0 l\u2019image de celui du Christ\u00a0<\/strong>: corps offert, trahi, tortur\u00e9, meurtri, abandonn\u00e9, oint et enseveli, ressuscit\u00e9. Mais si le Christ a v\u00e9ritablement fait exp\u00e9rience de cela dans son corps, ce n\u2019est que par des signes<\/strong> et des rites<\/strong> \u2013 ceux que ces Jours Saints nous offrent \u2013 que nous revivons sacramentalement cette exp\u00e9rience dans notre propre corps, afin d\u2019avoir en nous \u00ab\u00a0les dispositions qui sont dans le Christ J\u00e9sus\u00a0\u00bb (Ph 2, 5<\/em>). C\u2019est bien cet \u00ab\u00a0horizon christique\u00a0\u00bb, et non nos propres actes ou efforts, qui doit orienter notre participation aux myst\u00e8res que nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est donc dans cet \u00ab\u00a0horizon\u00a0\u00bb que prennent tout leur sens trois pratiques qui nous viennent des chr\u00e9tiens nous ayant devanc\u00e9, et qui encore aujourd\u2019hui nous sont propos\u00e9es\u00a0: la pri\u00e8re<\/strong>, le je\u00fbne<\/strong> et l\u2019aum\u00f4ne<\/strong>. Trois pratiques dont la finalit\u00e9 est bien celle de nous \u00ab\u00a0disposer\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 c\u00e9l\u00e9brer les myst\u00e8res<\/strong> que les Jours Saints r\u00e9actualisent, en nous conformant ainsi au Christ<\/strong> lui-m\u00eame dont les sentiments furent bien habit\u00e9s, au cours de ses derniers jours v\u00e9cus \u00ab\u00a0parmi les siens\u00a0\u00bb (Jn 1, 14)<\/em>, par la pri\u00e8re et le d\u00e9sir d\u2019aimer \u00ab\u00a0jusqu\u2019au bout\u00a0\u00bb (Jn 13, 1)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Comme cela fut pour J\u00e9sus, nous devons \u00ab\u00a0habiter\u00a0\u00bb ces pratiques sans les dissocier, de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re que les Jours Saints sont indissociables. Ces Jours nous font en effet passer de la joie \u00e0 la joie, en traversant \u2013 telle une P\u00e2que \u2013 par le drame de la d\u00e9r\u00e9liction de la mort et du tombeau.<\/p>\n

Aussi, la table festive du Jeudi Saint, sur laquelle on avait fait m\u00e9moire du souper du Seigneur, se transformera, le Vendredi et le Samedi Saint, en table d\u00e9pouill\u00e9e d\u2019aliments abondants et recherch\u00e9s, en m\u00e9moire du Seigneur mort et enseveli et, le Dimanche de P\u00e2que, s\u2019enrichira enfin \u00ab\u00a0de bonnes choses et de viandes savoureuses\u00a0\u00bb (Is 55, 2)<\/em><\/strong>, afin de signifier la joie de la pr\u00e9sence du Ressuscit\u00e9 s\u2019invitant \u00ab\u00a0chez les siens\u00a0\u00bb (Jn 1, 11)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On le voit, le partage de la table<\/strong> \u2013 qu\u2019elle soit d\u00e9pouill\u00e9e par l\u2019abstinence de nourriture ou richement appr\u00eat\u00e9e pour signifier la joie \u2013 est profond\u00e9ment communautaire<\/strong>, ainsi que l\u2019est la pratique du je\u00fbne<\/strong>. C\u2019est probablement cette attitude qui distingue le je\u00fbne pratiqu\u00e9 par les chr\u00e9tiens de celui qui est pr\u00f4n\u00e9 par nos contemporains en r\u00e9action d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 consum\u00e9riste ou \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019un mode de vie plus temp\u00e9rant et plus frugal.<\/p>\n

Le je\u00fbne chr\u00e9tien<\/strong> n\u2019a pas une fin en soi, mais il se fonde sur la parole du Christ \u2013 \u00ab\u00a0\u2026des jours viendront o\u00f9 l\u2019\u00c9poux leur sera enlev\u00e9\u00a0; alors ils jeuneront\u00a0\u00bb (Mt 9, 15)<\/em>. C\u2019est donc \u00e0 la suite du Christ, pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 sa parole<\/strong>, que les chr\u00e9tiens pratiquent le je\u00fbne, afin de participer \u00e0 ses myst\u00e8res, tels que lui-m\u00eame les a v\u00e9cus \u2013 le je\u00fbne du car\u00eame inaugur\u00e9 par lui au d\u00e9sert \u2013, et afin d\u2019attendre \u00ab\u00a0vigilants dans la foi\u00a0\u00bb son retour<\/strong> \u2013 le je\u00fbne eucharistique signifiant l\u2019attente eschatologique.
\nEn ce sens, le je\u00fbne chr\u00e9tien n\u2019est pas individuel mais, \u00e0 la fois, personnel<\/strong> \u2013 il sollicite librement mon propre corps \u2013 et eccl\u00e9sial<\/strong> \u2013 il concerne le corps tout entier de l\u2019\u00c9glise. Cela fait mieux comprendre la raison pour laquelle les chr\u00e9tiens ont toujours retenu l\u2019aum\u00f4ne comme un prolongement <\/strong>de la pratique du je\u00fbne<\/strong>, dans une conscience aig\u00fce de la dimension \u00e9thique de cette pratique. \u00c0 l\u2019exemple du Christ, le je\u00fbne doit disposer \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre et \u00e0 mettre en pratique sa parole\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Chaque fois que vous l\u2019avez fait \u00e0 l\u2019un de ces petits qui sont mes fr\u00e8res, c\u2019est \u00e0 moi que vous l\u2019avez fait\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb. Dans la pratique du je\u00fbne chr\u00e9tien, la table sobrement dress\u00e9e, signe du corps se privant de nourriture ou se nourrissant de l\u2019essentiel, dispose \u00e0 une attention privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gards des pauvres, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire aux membres du corps de l\u2019\u00c9glise laiss\u00e9s pour compte.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est ainsi que, tel un sacramental, dans le silence grave des Jours Saints et par la pratique de la pri\u00e8re, du je\u00fbne et de l\u2019aum\u00f4ne, la table du foyer domestique deviendra signe eschatologique du banquet du Royaume \u00e0 venir.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
